With International Women’s Day coming up on March 8th, it’s time to reflect on the women in your life. And how they shape and influence everything you know and appreciate today. Behind every successful woman, there is a tribe of other successful women, supporting her and cheering her on. It’s no secret that our world can be non-receptive or supportive of women tearing down boundaries today. Reason why we need to band together and create a female-positive community for each and every one of us.
We’re going to explore the history and importance of International Women’s Day. And how you can leverage Lifetime Wishes to support and commend the women in your life today.
International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is a global day that celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This day has been observed since the early 1900s to mark a call to action for accelerating gender parity while no government, NGO, charity, corporation, academic institution, women’s network, or media hub is responsible for the founding of the day. It just came to be amidst the women’s rights movement and “radical” ideologies of the early 20th century.
Marked by the colors of purple and white, purple signifies justice and dignity – two characteristics that women have cherished and exemplified throughout history.
“If you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman.” – Margaret Thatcher
3 Ways to Support the Women in Your Life
With our Lifetime Wishes platform, we provide you with personalized ways, through eCards, videos, messages, and photos, to communicate with the women in your life – your female tribe.
Do you want to make this International Women’s Day particularly special? Here are 3 ways to make your support clearly known:
- Grandmothers & Granddaughters: As a grandmother, you want your granddaughter to grow up in a world that is receptive to her talents and her passions. You’ve no doubt endured hardships throughout the years, and it’s your chance to tell your granddaughter how she can rise above the adversity. Write her a poem or record yourself emphasizing her importance.
- Mothers & Daughters: As a mother, you want your daughter to grow up with fierce confidence and unwavering self-esteem. You can record a series of International Women’s Day posts, to go out every year on the day, sharing one new piece of insight with your little girl.
- Girlfriends: Girlfriends, whether friends or romantic partners, can send eCards and more to their other girlfriends to let them know how special and cherished they are today. Sometimes, all we need is a pat on the back. Therefore, it’s important that women support one another. And that our support is apparent for all to see.
We provide you with a lifetime of opportunities to make the other women in your life feel unique, vibrant, and powerful. That’s what International Women’s Day is all about. We’re honored to celebrate it with you.
